Patrick de Barros and Russell Coutts conquer the DHL long distance Trophy

The wind was not at its best on Lake Garda today for the long distance DHL Trophy. However, the nine RC 44’s managed to sail an interesting regatta. Banco Espirito Santo made the best out of the conditions to win the race, ahead of Team Hiroshi – Città di Milano and Ceeref. Armando Giulietti’s Team Hiroshi is now alone at the top of the fleet race ranking.

A glorious opening day for the RC44 MALCESINE SLAM CUP

The nine RC 44’s involved in the RC 44 Malcesine SLAM Cup completed 6 flights in ideal conditions. Cameron Appleton’s Team Aqua shares the lead with Sébastien Col’s Hiroshi – Città di Milano. James Spithill’s Team Ceeref, only one point away whilst Dean Barker’s Banco Espirito Santo and Larry Ellison’s BMW ORACLE Racing are two points behind with three more flights to complete. Needless to say that tomorrow will be fascinating!

Igor Lah and James Spithill conquer the RC 44 Austria Cup

The Slovenian team Ceeref confirms its new leadership over the RC 44 Class. After having won the match race event, Igor Lah and James Spithill have conquered the fleet regatta ahead of Chris Bake’s Team Aqua and Patrick de Barros’ Banco Espirito Santo. The latter is the winner of the long distance DHL Trophy.

The RC 44 Austria Cup will take place on the beautiful lake Traun, between May 28 – June 1. Following two events held on the sea, with waves and fairly strong winds, this regatta may well reshuffle the cards.
