Adris RC44 World Championships, Croatia 3 – 7 October

After this venue proved a fantastic host to the class in 2011, Rovinj, Croatia returns to the circuit for the 2012 Adris RC44 World Championships.

As a debut port in 2011, Rovinj provided a week of close racing with a stunning backdrop. The one to watch this season will be Chris Bake’s Team Aqua (GBR), whose consistent score line in Rovinj led his crew to win the 2011 RC44 Championship Tour with an event to spare!

Situated in the north of the Adriatic Sea, the sleepy fishing port of Rovinj will once again welcome the RC44 fleet, having made its debut as a host port in the 2011 Championship Tour.

Steeped in history, the peninsula on which the city lies was originally an island, separated from the mainland by a channel which, in 1763, was filled in.  The Rovinj Archipelago includes 22 islets and is an active fishing port. Scuba divers flock to Rovinj to dive the famous wreck, Baron Gautsch.
