R.F.P.S.2016 Retractable Forwarding Propeller System 20 (diesel engine power in Hp), 16 (hydraulic engine power in Hp).
An easy system that consists in one hydraulic engine with a three or four blades propeller installed in a vtr tunnel and in forwarding direction. The hydraulic engine can move up and down with an electric/hydraulic system and it is connected to a Volvo Penta diesel engine coupled with a high pressure hydraulic pump by rubber hoses. During sailing, the system is retracted and the hull is really clean because the inlet water pipe and the exhaust pipe are retracted too. A carbon cap covers the hole in the hull. This means improved performances in sailing, easy manouvering during mooring or transfer with the system extended, ensured by spin-lock throttle system. You can use the system like a normal diesel propulsion with sail-drive or reverse gear.
